IPS-K2's 300hp capable!
People were curious what numbers IPS-K2's could put out. Last year, we showed the gains on a stock RSX-S with all the bolt-ons and outperformed its competition within its class and target market. It was clear to us however, that there was untapped potential waiting to be discovered and that the true power of IPS-K2 camshafts lay dormant...
Until now.
We sought to complete our R&D cycle by removing the previous restrictions and performance bottlenecks seen with stock internals and aftermarket shelf bolt-ons. The answer was to build our 2240cc engine fortified with a Castillo custom crankshaft, Cunningham Titanium rods, JE Pistons (custom made for IPS), Western Wristpins, Burns Stainless Inconel 4-1 header, TWM 52mm ITB's, Benson sleeving, machine work and short block assembly. Assistance from Church Auto Test, MD Automotive, Autowave, Prototype Racing, TSR Fabrication, After Hours Enterprises, Epic Motoring and Alex Keleman (OverRev Magazine Tech Editor). The result was nothing less than inspiring.
Hondata has been the exclusive tuner for IPS-K2 R&D from the very beginning. Without them and the afforementioned companies and individuals, these results would not have been made possible. We at Intrinsic Performance Solutions wish to extend our heartfelt appreciation and gratitude for the tremendous support they have contributed to the combined success of this endeavor.

IPS-K2 compatibility for use with K24A2 (TSX) confirmed. Piston to valve clearance @ 50 degrees VTC advance = 0.030". We suggest imposing max advance of 45 degrees through software. Clearances were taken using RSX-S VTC sprocket. TSX VTC sprocket has mechanical limitation of 25 degrees max advance.
