- RC 750cc saturated injectors
- Hondata Kpro
- TurboSmart dual stage manual boost controller
- Full Fast-Turbo.com fuel system featuring a Bosch pump and GE fuel rail
- Tial 40mm wastegate
- Tial BOV
- All tuning was done on pump 93 octane by Jason @ Autologic
Jason's tuning notes and data:
We tuned the engine at 15psi, We kept the AFRs at 11.5:1 while in
boost. The timing for this test was very conservative. The Cam angles
were optimised. The ignition timing was not changed for the initial cam test.
Once the stock cam was tuned, they were pulled out and IPS springs, retainers, and Turbo spec cams were installed.
Without making any changes to the Kpro, we immediately saw a gain..

Once we optimised the cam angle and AFRs, the top end power was really impressive.

That was all done without changing the ignition maps. I found that while tuning these cams they REALLY liked ignition timing. With just 2 degrees of ignition timing added these cams WOKE UP!

In order to maintain true results I ran the car at the same water and air temperatures +/- 3 degrees.
While we were testing we found that the car was making more power with
the IPS cams with 1.5-1.0 psi less boost. We kept peak boost at 15.0.
Towards the end of the session we were losing power below 5000 rpms,
once we pulled the car off the dyno we found a small exhaust leak
between the turbo and manifold. This accounts for an approxiamate 10hp
loss on the low cam. when we first tuned the low cam it made the same
power as the stock cam, which I can only attribute to the lack of
airflow at that RPM due to the large turbo we are running (lag).
All in all we are very impressed with the cams. They have proven to be
extremely effective.
